I desire that all Muslims will hear the gospel and chose what they will follow. I have written a brief overview of Islam. My prayer is for you to use this information to reach out to your Muslim Neighbors.

1.They Shall Hear My Voice

John 10: 1-16
"The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. But he who is a hireling and not the shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away. And the wolf catches them and scatters the sheep. The hireling flees, because he is a hireling and does not care for the sheep. I am the Good Shepherd, and I know those that are Mine, and I am known by those who are Mine. Even as the Father knows Me, I also know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep. And I have other sheep who are not of this fold (The Muslims). I must also lead those, and they shall hear My voice, and there shall be one flock, one Shepherd."

2. Introduction to the History of Islam:

Muhammad was born in Mecca in 570 A.D. In 609 A.D., at the age of forty, Muhammad proclaimed himself to be the prophet of Islam, which means "submission to Allah". In 622 A.D., Muhammad fled to Medina after being rejected by the leaders in Mecca . Islam became such a large and powerful military force that by the year 630 A.D., Muhammad was able to return to Mecca , conquer his enemies, and destroy all idols. By the time of his death in the year 632 A.D., the entire Arabian Peninsula was under the rule of Islam by the sword. In the time of the successors of Muhammad after his death, Islam was spread by the sword to India , parts of China , Syria , Israel , Jordan , Egypt , Persia , parts of Asia, Afghanistan , the Caucuses, Sub Saharan Africa, Malaysia , and Indonesia .

3.The Six Pillars (Mandatory) of Islam:

1.      Shahada - Confession of faith (There is no god other than Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah).

2.      Salat - Prayer (Five times a day facing Mecca ).

3.      Zakat - Charity (2.5 % of income).

4.      Sawm - Fast (During the lunar month of Ramadan from the sunrise to sunset).

5.      Hajj - Pilgrimage (Once during lifetime, if affordable).

6.      Jihad - Killing the infidels (Christian and Jewish) in the name of Allah.

     4.Assurance of Salvation:

Islam teaches that completing the first five pillars is not a guaranty that you will escape hell and go to heaven. The one exception is the reward for dying in Jihad as a martyr for Islam. The reward is heaven and 72 virgin women.

·         The Qur'an teaches that every Muslim will pass through hell. (Sura 19:71)

·         According to the Qur'an, God guides and misguides as He pleases. (Sura 14:4; 6:125)

·         God orders people to transgress so that He will have an excuse to destroy them. (Sura 17:16)

·         Heaven in Islam is the place where a Muslim will be reclining, eating meat and delicious fruits, drinking exquisite wines, and engaging in sex with many beautiful women. (Sura 52:17-22, 4:57, 76:12-21, 55:46-76, and 47:15)

      5. What is a Religion of Peace?

       Peace is defined by Webster's Dictionary as "freedom from war." The Qur'an speaks for itself:

·         Islam requires its followers to force others to accept Islam. Muslims must fight until their enemy submits to Islam. (Sura 2:193; 9:5; 9:29; 47:4)

·         Islam instructs Muslims not to befriend Jews or Christians. (Sura 5:51)

·         Fight to death those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book (Christians and Jews).... (Sura 9:29)

·         Islam teaches that the Qur'an is the Constitution; God is the author of law and the State is the agent to implement the law. (Sura 4:105 and 12:40)

·         Resisting Islam (by various means) is punished by death, crucifixion, or the cutting off of the hands and feet. (Sura 5:33)

·         Prophet! Rouse the Believers to the fight.... (Sura 8:65)

·         Fighting is prescribed upon you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you.... (Sura 2:16)

·         "But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)....." (Sura 9:5)

      6.Sex and Women's rights:

•  Islam teaches that men are superior to women.   (Sura 2:228)

•  Islam considers the wife a possession. (Sura 3:14)

•  Islam teaches that a wife is subject to punishment by her husband.   As a punishment, beating a wife or abstaining from sexual relations with her is allowed. (Sura 4:34)

•  Islam teaches that women are unclean.   If a Muslim man touches a woman before praying, he is considered unclean for prayer.   (Sura 4:43; 5:6)

•  Islam considers the wife a sex object. (Sura 2:223)

•  The wife after being divorce may not remarry her husband until she has married and been divorced by another man. This is called "al Mohalil" (the legalizer). (Sura 2:229-230).

•  The Qur'an says that God will forgive a person who forces his girls into prostitution. (Sura 24:33)

       7.The Fear of Leaving Islam:

·         Islam teaches that any individual, who accepts Islam and later leaves it, will be subject to death. (Sura 9:12; 4:89)

       8.Islam in the Bible:

·         But, JESUS THE MESSIAH SAID "....the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God a service." (John 16:2)

·         "Beware of false prophets..." (Matthew 7:15) "...many false prophets will rise up and deceive many." (Matthew 24:11)

·         "The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I (Jesus) came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." (John 10:10)

        9. Jesus Message:

"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you..." (Matthew 5:44)

        10.Today:

·         There are around 1.2 Billion Muslims in the world.
Only 25% of Muslims are Arabs. The largest number of Muslims are Indonesians.

·         There are around 6 million Muslims in the United States .

There are over 2,000 Islamic centers in the United States .

·         In California alone, there are around 240 Islamic centers and 20% of all Muslims in the US .  Around 20% of the Muslims in America are African-American.

            11. Strategy Preparation:

·  My desire is to see the body of Christ ready and equipped to reach the Muslims. Please don't see the Muslims as enemies! They are victims of Islam. Many Islamic countries and family pressures prevent Muslims from choosing Christ.

· Please remember Muslims are people for whom Jesus Christ died. (John 3:16) Among the Muslims, there are some of His sheep. (John 10:16)

· Pray and ask the Holy Sprit to lead you and   give you the ability to forgive and love the Muslims, looking at them as victims of Islam, lost without salvation or sinners loved by God (Romans 3:23) (John 3:16). They are not enemies.

· Study and be prepared to answer their questions, to share the love of Christ and to challenge their faith if needed. (1Peter 3:15)

· Seek opportunities, build friendships and be patient; don't expect to see quick results. Most Muslims come to Christ in 2 to 8 years. Don't be disappointed. You don't know if God already has been working in his or her life through other believers, situations or dreams.

· Have brothers and sisters keep you in prayer. Keep in mind that our war is not against flesh and blood, it is a spiritual battle. (Eph 6:12)

· Since they are in the US now and have a choice, will you reach them?

· Ask for God's love for Muslims.
